VGP – Viet Nam has gone a week without new a COVID-19 infection case, keeping the nation's patient tally at 268, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said Thursday morning.
Of the figure, 160 are imported cases, accounting for 29.7%. As many as 223 patients have been cleared of the virus and discharged from hospitals.
The current active cases are being treated at 8 hospitals across the country, including 39 at central-level hospitals, 4 at provincial hospitals and 2 at district-level hospitals.
Noticeably, three sickest patients numbered 19, 161, and 91 are getting better, the Steering Committee said.
The positive signal was attributed to successful control of COVID-19 clusters, said Tran Dac Phu, senior adviser at the Public Health Emergency Operations Center under the Ministry of Health.
However, the global COVID-19 pandemic situation still remains complicated, requiring Viet Nam to continue staying vigilant, Phu stressed.
Citizens should continue pursuing recommended measures to protect themselves, including wearing mask and keeping distance to others./.
