VGP – The National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control on June 30 held a working session with representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Viet Nam and some international organizations on the pandemic fight in the upcoming time.
At the meeting, the WHO representatives and international organizations spoke highly of Viet Nam's COVID-19 prevention and control works as well as efforts of the Vietnamese scientists in researching and production of medical equipment and biological products serving for the work.

Foreign specialists discussed information relevant to the pandemic situations and prevention in the future, vaccine production and recommendations for countries to consider re-opening border gates and resuming flights as the pandemic is controlled.
Accordingly, the WHO technical group has established a temporary guiding document for countries and territories to consider re-opening border gates and resuming flights, which are supplemented with two foundations including the re-opening based on supervision capacity at border gates and giving priority to necessary travel.
Representatives of international organizations committed to doing their utmost to coordinate with Viet Nam in the COVID-19 pandemic fight, expecting the nation to share and cooperate in vaccine research and production.
The WHO representative said that a global COVID-19 vaccine research alliance has been set up, inviting Viet Nam to join.
Viet Nam has two agencies participating in COVID-19 vaccine research and production, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said, highlighting that the nation has successfully produced and exported made-in-Viet Nam COVID-19 test kits and ventilators.
Viet Nam is willing to coordinate and contribute to the world's fight against COVID-19, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam asserted, expressing his hope that the WHO and other international organizations will assist the country in connecting, sharing and exporting its medical products to the world to soon overcome the pandemic.
