On 8 July 2019, the UNESCO expert team led by Dr.Sc Maurizio Burlano, Dr.Sc Vesa Krokki went on a field trip to officially evaluate the tourist route named "Song of the Water and Fire" belonging to the Aspirant Dak Nong Geopark.
Evaluating the Information Center of Dak Nong Aspirant Geopark
The tourist route named " Song of water and the Fire" starts from Gia Nghia town, through Quang Son and ends in Krong No (district of Dak Nong), encompassing 14 tourist sites, respectively including the Information Center of the Aspirant Geopark - Duy Hung goat farm - Handicraft village of M'nong ethnic people - Kaolin mine - the paddy field scene at the base of volcano - Dray Sap information center - Dray Sap waterfall - Volcanic caves - Gia Long waterfall.

On arriving at each sites, with the help of the interpreter team, the experts got to learn about the information related to each heritage site and merged into the culture of indigenous inhabitants.

As the schedule set out, on 9 October, the UNESCO expert team would continue their evaluation process at the remaining tourist routes namely "the Symphony of transformation which is comprised of 16 sites and "the Resonance from the Earth" comprised of 14 sites.
Visiting Krong No secondary school
The results of evaluation trip would be officially presented at the 6th Asian Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium held in Indonesia in the coming September 2019. Then, the UNESCO committee will meet up in April 2020 to assess and work out the decision (about whether to accept, to defer or to refuse) the granting of the global title for Dak Nong Geopark.
